In the fourth year of partnership with PERIOD., the menstrual equity non-profit, the Aerie Real Foundation is proud to award a $50k Signature Grant. This grant will help empower young leaders with the tools to drive systemic change, ensuring menstrual health is a recognized and actionable priority in communities across the US and globally. The organization is dedicated to ending period poverty and stigma through global, youth-fueled service, education and advocacy. (Aerie is donating 500 Aerie t-shirts for Period Action Day events, too!)

ABOUT PERIOD.
Founded in 2014 by two high school students in Portland, OR, PERIOD. is a global youth-powered non-profit that is working to eradicate period poverty and stigma through advocacy, education,
and service. Powered by hundreds of youth led volunteer PERIOD. Chapters around the world, PERIOD. distributes menstrual products to communities in need, authors menstrual health curriculum, and advocates for change.
Via these chapters, PERIOD. trains youth advocates to end period poverty in their own communities through period product drives and stigma-busting menstrual health resources. PERIOD.’s youth advocacy program also equips volunteers to advocate for policy change and implementation to advance menstrual equity at local, state, and federal levels.
HOW THE AERIE REAL FOUNDATION SUPPORTS PERIOD.
PERIOD. will use this year’s $50K Aerie Real Foundation Signature Grant to fund the next phase of leadership with PERIOD. Advocacy Fellowships, training that immerses emerging youth leaders to drive sustained, systemic change for menstrual equity. This grant will also support Period Action Day on October 10th, a day when events across the country raise awareness and take action against period poverty in their communities.
In addition to a $50K Signature Grant, the Aerie Real Foundation has pledged to donate 500 Aerie t-shirts for Period Action Day events.
MORE MENSTRUAL EQUITY INITIATIVES AT AEO
AEO is a PERIOD. Workplace Champion! This program is designed to eliminate period poverty in the workplace and support menstrual equity. As a workplace champion, AEO pledges to provide menstrual products in all restrooms (including the AEO home office, distribution centers, and stores) and make educational materials available to all employees.
